The beautiful Hanseatic city of Greifswald is about a 10-minute drive away or, by bike (bike path available or under construction), about 30 to 40 minutes away. Bicycles are available upon request. Swimming is possible at the Eldena beach (a 20-minute drive) or further along the Greifswald Bodden, where the beaches range from secluded to bustling. The islands of Usedom and Rügen are just as easily accessible for a day trip as the Mecklenburg Lake District (30 to 60 minutes by car).
